Devon & Somerset - Steam & Cruise

Day 1:

Journey to Devon - After local pickups, we begin our journey to Tiverton, making regular comfort stops along the way. We expect to arrive at the hotel in the late afternoon, where your luggage will be delivered to your room. This gives you time to relax, settle in, and perhaps take a stroll before enjoying your evening dinner.

Day 2:

Exeter & Exmouth River Cruise - Our day begins with a visit to the historic cathedral city of Exeter. This compact city is brimming with heritage, from its Roman walls to its medieval underground passages and charming quayside. You'll have free time to explore at your leisure, whether that's sightseeing, browsing the shops, or enjoying a leisurely lunch.
In the afternoon, we continue to the seaside resort of Exmouth. From the marina, we embark on a circular cruise along the River Exe, complete with live commentary. As we drift along, you'll hear fascinating stories about the area's history and wildlife while soaking up the views of this beautiful waterway.

Day 3:

West Somerset Railway, Minehead & Exmoor - After breakfast, we travel to Bishops Lydeard to board the nostalgic West Somerset Railway. Sit back and enjoy the scenic ride through the countryside as this heritage line takes us to the seaside town of Minehead. On arrival, you'll have free time to explore, perhaps enjoy some traditional fish and chips, or take a stroll along the seafront.
Our journey continues to the medieval village of Dunster, with its wealth of history and over 200 listed buildings. From here, we take a scenic drive through the rolling hills and moorland of Exmoor National Park before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 4:

Tiverton, Horse-Drawn Barge & Bickleigh Mill - This morning, you'll have some free time to enjoy the ancient market town of Tiverton at your own pace.
At 11:00 am, we take a peaceful trip along the Grand Western Canal on the last horse-drawn barge in the Southwest - a unique and memorable experience through the Devon countryside. Afterwards, we continue to Bickleigh Mill, a delightful riverside spot where you can browse the gift shop, enjoy lunch, or indulge in a traditional Devon cream tea.

Day 5:

Homeward Bound - Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to Devon as we begin our journey home. With regular comfort stops along the way, we expect to arrive back in the local area by late afternoon, bringing our tour to a close with fond memories of Devon's beauty and charm.
