The History Behind “TAO 179G"

 

D & H Harrod Coaches Ltd was founded in 1927 by Herman Harrod, originally operating a single vehicle for community events such as dominoes matches, church outings, and group trips to London.

 

Following Herman’s passing in 1965, his wife Dolly Harrod stepped forward to run the business — becoming one of only a handful of female coach drivers in Norfolk at the time. Determined and hardworking, she continued the family legacy and helped grow the business through the decades.

 

Dolly regularly drove a Bedford Bella Vega, and while the original vehicle was later sold, our lovingly restored Bella Vega — TAO 179G — proudly carries her name today. This special coach stands as a tribute to her contribution, her character, and the enduring history of Harrods Coaches.
