We would like to introduce to you “Dolly” our 1969 Bedford Bella Vega Classic coach.

 

Travel back in time to the heyday of classic coaches as you climb on board! Named after Dolly Harrod, who drove our buses in the 60’s, this lovingly restored vintage vehicle is just right if you’re looking for something a little special for your journey!

 

The coach will be decorated to your requirements ready for your big day; the driver will also be suitably attired ready to escort you in style.

History of “TA0 179G”

 

D & H Harrod Coaches Ltd was started by Herman Harrod in 1927; it provided services including trips to dominoes matches, church outings and group outings to London. This was still a one vehicle business when Herman died in 1965. Herman’s wife Dolly then learned to drive and became one of only half a dozen female coach drivers in Norfolk at the time.

One of the first coaches Dolly used to drive was a Bedford Bella Vega “CVY 50IC”, as the business gradually increased in growth and the number of coaches; the Bedford was sold on, as more modern coaches were added.
