Steam & the Severn Valley

Day 1: Today after local pick-ups we travel westward to the elegant Georgian spa town of Royal Leamington Spa. Famous for its wide boulevards & award winning parks that provide a colourful backdrop to the regency shopping areas. After lunch we continue to our hotel in Stourport on Severn. This Georgian canal town is situated in the heart of the Severn valley & we arrive with time for you to settle in before dinner.
Day 2: Our journey today takes us to Worcester with its magnificent cathedral & picturesque cricket ground. The city is known as Elgar’s birthplace & we include a visit to the Elgar birthplace museum & visor centre. After time at the museum free time is available in the city before a short cruise on the River Severn around Worcester. After the cruise we make our way back to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.
Day 3: Full steam ahead today for an unforgettable journey on the Severn Valley Railway. We join our train at Kidderminster for the journey through stunning scenery to Bridgnorth. On arrival we allow free time for you to enjoy upper & lower Bridgnorth home to the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain. The lower town was once a thriving port while the upper town boasted a castle & many other imposing buildings. We return late afternoon to our hotel.
Day 4: We travel today into the Cotswolds. We spend the morning in the medieval town of Evesham with its wide broadways & diverse shopping outlets there plenty for all. After free time we continue our travels to the medieval town of Tewkesbury situated at the joining of the Rivers Severn & Avon. The town was a large market town & tradition continues to the present day. Mid-afternoon we embark on a cruise from Tewkesbury to Upton on the River Severn before the return journey to the hotel.
Day 5: Time to depart stopping at Stratford upon Avon for Lunch, arriving back in our local area early evening

The single room supplement is for the use of a twin/double for sole occupancy.
The hotel does not have any bedrooms with walk in showers, other than one disable bedroom with a wet room.
The hotel has 30 ground floor bedrooms accessed via 3 steps or a chair lift, but does not have a lift between floors.
Tea/Coffee with scones & jam on arrival.
Themed locally produced menu on one evening
One evening of entertainment is included which incorporates a pianist playing during & after dinner.
