Day 1: We travel northward to the historic town of Newark. We make a stop here for you to have lunch before we re-join the Great North Road & continue on to our hotel arriving late afternoon.
Day 2: Today we step back in time as we travel to the Historic Castle Howard Estate home to the Howard family for the last 300 years. This stunning 18th century house is set within 1000 acres of parkland in the Howardian Hills an area of outstanding natural beauty. After ample time exploring the house & gardens we make the short return journey to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.
Day 3: We journey today to the Historic City of York. On arrival you board your boat for an included hours cruise on the river. Upon your return take time to explore the cities many attractions such as the National Railway Museum or amble down the Shambles & not forgetting the glorious York Minster. We depart York mid-afternoon & make our way back to our hotel, here you will have the opportunity to enjoy an included visit, the |York Bird of Prey Centre situated behind the hotel & open until 17:30hrs.
Day 4: The highlight today is a journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. You board your train in the charming town of Pickering & then sit back & relax for the 29 mile journey to the coast. Upon arrival in Whitby you will have ample time to explore this historic seaside town. With its ruined Gothic Abbey the catalyst for Bram Stokers Dracula novel as well as the Captain Cook memorial & museum. Later we leave Whitby & travel down to the Queen of Yorkshires resorts Scarborough. We drop you down at the seafront allowing you time to explore before we depart late afternoon for our journey back to our hotel.
Day 5: We leave our comfortable surrounding today & travel homeward. We make regular stops for your comfort & arrive back in our local area late afternoon.
The singles will be twins/double for sole occupancy.
The hotel does not have any bedrooms with walk-in showers.
The hotel does have some ground floor bedrooms, as well as a lift (suitable for wheelchairs) which travel to all floors.
