Isle of Wight
Day 1: After local pick ups we head South to Portsmouth to catch our ferry across to Fishbourne, we then make our way down to Shanklin to our hotel for the next 4 nights.
Day 2: Today we board our coach for a circular tour of the island, which boasts 60 miles of spectacular coastline and stunning scenery, affording plenty of magnificent views. We start with a mid morning stop in Ryde, before heading through to the Historic Port Town of Yarmouth, which is home to the oldest architecture on the island, including a 16th century castle and grade 2 listed pier. We continue on to Needles park which boasts fabulous ocean views and is home to the iconic chairlift, which operates from the cliff-top at Allum Bay down to the beach below where we can see the Needles rocks and coloured sands. We then continue around the remainder of the island arriving back at the hotel late afternoon.
Day 3: After a leisurely breakfast we make the short journey up to Sandown, its one of the Isle of Wight’s finest and most recognized beaches, with miles of soft golden sands crowned by Sandown’s pleasure pier. After lunch we make our way to Ventor Botanical Gardens, basking in the microclimate of the Undercliff, these are one of the great gardens of Britain.
Day 4: This morning we head up to Osbourne House, Queen Victoria’s island retreat. Explore the lavishly furnished State rooms and glorious grounds and gardens. After lunch we make the short journey to the Isle of Wight Railway for a journey which will take you back in time. We then make our way back to the hotel.
