After local pick ups we make our way via the motorway network to the international port of Portsmouth to join our ship The Pont Aven for our 24 hour cruise to Santander. Departing at 17:15hrs TBC
We arrive in the port of Santander & after negotiating border control you rejoin your holiday coach for the short journey to your hotel for the next 5 nights
A free day for you to enjoy your local surroundings and take in the tapas bars. Today lunch at the hotel is included.
Today is possibly the highlight of this holiday as we make our way into the Picos De Europa mountain range. Our journey takes us along the Hermida Gorge which runs for approx 15 miles up to our first stop Fuente de where you will have chance to take the cable car to the top of the mountain. After this we retrace our steps to the attractive town of Potes where free time will be allowed for you to enjoy the town and relax in the tapas bars before returning to our hotel with time to refresh before dinner.
We depart mid-morning for the attractive coastal town of Castro Urdiales passing the bull ring at the entrance to this town, we take you down to the town centre where you will have free time to visit the many shops and wander the seafront before returning to the hotel mid afternoon.
Today we follow the Roman silver road from Torrelavega to Reinosa a ski resort in the Picos mountain range, here we will have free time to explore. We then head East along the banks of the Embalse del Ebro before we descend from the Sierra del Escudo down into the valley of Rio de Lunena o de la Magdalena to the pretty little Spa village of Puente Viesgo where you will have free time to explore before returning to our hotel.
After a relaxing morning we load our cases and then we will have lunch at the hotel (which is included) before heading into the city of Santander where we will take you up to the lighthouse for a short stop before returning to the city for free time to explore before boarding our ship for the return crossing to Portsmouth. Departing at 21:15hrs TBC
Arrive Portmouth at 14:15hrs (TBC) and thence to East Anglia.
